The Day of Departure

Since it’s Friday, I hurried to the airport after finishing work at 5 PM.

Completed online check-in + no checked luggage means

the boarding process line is very short!!!

I arrived 15 minutes before check-in started, but there were so many people..

Luckily, I only had carry-on luggage haha.

The carry-on luggage limit was 7kg, and I was lucky to be right on the dot!!!

I made a new Shinhan Travel Check Card

and tried to use the lounge free admission benefit, but

they said I couldn’t enter due to no spending in the previous month, sad…

It’s new, they should have let me in!

I didn’t eat dinner, so I just had a hot dog as consolation.

After two hours of deep sleep post-departure, I woke up

watched Mukbang for an hour and went back to sleep.

Phu Viet Boutique Hotel Da Nang

I took the Grab I had booked in advance and arrived at Phu Viet Boutique Hotel.

This photo was taken the next morning.

I loved that they allow 24-hour check-in.

They also gave a welcome drink that had a ginger aroma,

which was refreshing enough to enjoy even at a late hour.

The staff at the front desk were very friendly as well.

It was just a half stay, so I wasn’t expecting much, but

I was pleasantly surprised by the room condition~!

Next Day Breakfast!!

I’ll say it now, but among the accommodations we visited during this trip, the breakfast (pho) was the best!

While the variety is less than other places,

it was quite plentiful considering the size, and the taste was excellent.

My companion, Seo-young, said the kimchi was spicy and delicious.

Before heading out, we went to check out the pool.

Met a dog on the way to Han Market.

Han Market

Since a custom ao dai takes about two hours, it was the first stop we made.

Among the places I searched, I chose the one with good reviews, number 123.

They showed me pictures of different designs and allowed me to try them on,

but I couldn’t decide on the fabric, so I kept going back and forth.

The owner was very kind though, hehe.

We arrived around 9 and spent about 30 minutes choosing; they told us to come back at 11.

(When we actually returned at 11, we had to wait about another 30 minutes.

But the owner was very nice, so I didn’t get annoyed!! ☺)

While I was looking for Crocs, I encountered a booth (253) that aggressively solicited customers.

When I tried to leave, they grabbed my arm and seemed upset.

When I said I was just looking, they implied I was lying, so I felt uncomfortable.

After promising to return, I browsed around, then actually went back,

but they were very unfriendly…

Having promised to return, I did, but I didn’t want to buy from them at all — well, haha.

So I bought just Crocs and a set of jibbitz (200,000 dong),

and told my sister to buy from a different place.

Even when I bought, they were sulky.

I then bought additional jibbitz at booth 254,

and my sister and I bought 3 sets together, which led to a small discount.

Originally, they cost 70,000 dong each, but buying three allowed us to get them at 60,000 dong each.

I just found them cute, so I took a picture, hehe.

Công Cafe

Visited the famous Công Cafe!!

This is the second Cong Cafe directly in front of Han Market,

but neither Naver nor Google Maps can find it

so here we are…

It’s somewhere around here…

I thought they would accept card payments because it’s such a popular place, but

it’s cash only…

I ordered the condensed milk coffee I’ve always loved,

and my sister got some weird drink called Umbrella Juice??

Each cost 35,000/65,000 dong.

I was pretty satisfied with my cold drink.

After enjoying our drinks, we headed to the next destination!

White Orchid Spa

This is the White Orchid Spa located in Hoi An.

The best part is that they provide free pick-up & drop-off.

They even offer discounts on massages…

However, their original prices aren’t higher than others; in fact, they’re quite cheaper;;;;

I had been worried about how to get from Da Nang to Hoi An,

but I found out about this place by chance and it turned out to be amazing!

I’ll definitely recommend it to anyone heading to Da Nang!!!

(I actually used their service again the following day.)

When you choose a massage, they first give you a welcome tea and a foot bath.

This photo was taken after my massage, so it looks a bit messy, but

I had my massage in a room like this.

After the massage, they treated us with snacks.

The coconut snacks were extremely delicious,

so I decided I would buy some during my last day’s shopping.

But the ones sold at Lotte Mart taste totally different… 🙁

I should have bought them at the market….. they were amazing

Bellerive Hoi An Hotel & Spa

We’ve arrived at the Hoi An accommodation!

Of course, they provided free transportation from the spa.

There was a cute dog at the counter,

and they had a welcome drink which surprised us,

but I didn’t drink it, so I don’t know how it tastes.

Has anyone tried it?

Because we got a suite room, it was great! hehe

Nothing beats twin beds…

After checking in, free afternoon tea is included in the stay,

so we rushed to the lounge before it closed between 2-5 PM.

The variety of snacks, pastries, and fruits surprised us since there were more options than expected!

We explored the resort for some nice reels ㅎ

After playing around, we found a spot where we could take lovely selfies,

and it felt like I took about a hundred pictures here.

I’d love to post them all, but I’ll refrain for now.

Old Town

Arrived at Old Town after taking a Grab!

The fare was just under 100,000 dong.

Tom Do

This is a popular Korean restaurant known for its value lobster!

There was a wait, but I estimated we waited about 15-20 minutes?

We were seated pretty quickly.

As expected, there were lots of Korean customers.

It seemed like every table around us was also Korean…

We entered around 7 PM,

and I think I heard that the lobsters ran out about 30 minutes later.

I ordered the garlic butter lobster, and my sister went with the chili one.

The presentation was stunning.

The meat was super plump ㅜㅜㅜ

When you tear off the tail, the meat separates easily; it was delicious!

How is this only in the 20,000 dong range?

I also snapped a few pictures while waiting for my dish.

Enjoying my time at a Korean restaurant abroad makes me feel sentimental.

While exploring Old Town, we discovered a coffee shop in an alleyway.

It was so hot that we decided to sit down and grab an ice Americano each!

They simply served chilled black coffee in an ice cup, but it was refreshing and very affordable! 😊

Japanese Bridge

While walking, we stumbled upon the Japanese Bridge.

We were in a hurry, as we had a scheduled time for the Wish Boat Tour.

I had booked through Klook, so we followed the address provided in the app.

(This is where the trouble started.)

My legs started to hurt, so I decided to call a Grab bike this time.

Up until that point, I was still having a good time! ^^

Wish Boat Tour

We were so excited to see the night view~

As we walked, we marveled at how beautiful the lights reflected on the water.

But as we arrived, we found… nothing…

We decided to head back toward the Japanese Bridge.

Once again feeling the strain in my legs, we called for another Grab bike.

I was still in a good mood though! ^^

After searching for a while, we finally found the location we had reserved…

Although I was getting frustrated, the time was already approaching 8:50 PM…

Desperate, I ended up buying tickets from a friendly local (vendor)…

Funny enough, they were cheaper than the ones we pre-booked on Klook.

Klook had 2 tickets for 15,000 won,

while the walk-in price was 250,000 dong…

This friendly vendor even took some nice photos for us along the way.

It was a hectic day, but we managed to get through all our planned activities!

We enjoyed ourselves, so cheers to that! 🥂

After the tour, I treated myself to a nice foot massage.

It was pretty cheap, around 10,000 or 20,000 dong, probably because it was late at night.

Afterwards, I took a Grab bike ride back to the hotel.

However, I ended up taking a bike from a guy who was just standing there, and it cost 50,000 dong for both of us.

Initially, he said it would cost 50,000 dong for two, but

when we arrived, he suddenly tried to change the amount.

I confronted him, saying he quoted 50,000 for two!

He looked quite pitiful and insisted otherwise,

so I just decided to give him the money and let it go.

But while I pulled out the 10,000 dong,

it somehow turned into a 2,000 dong note in his hand…??

Honestly, I feel like I got scammed…

I was quite frustrated and was suddenly craving a beer.

So I stopped by a convenience store nearby and got a beer.

Before heading back to my room, I took a stroll outside to enjoy the night view.

Even though I felt somewhat uneasy about the earlier incident,

it still made me grateful for how enjoyable the trip was overall!

And that’s all for my trip report on Da Nang! I can’t wait to visit again!
