On the second day, I got off at Széchenyi Station to visit Vajdahunyad Castle.
I initially took the wrong entrance, and a staff member kindly guided me to the right one!
I entered through the left entrance since I didn’t purchase an online ticket.
The video quality is poor…
This Széchenyi Thermal Bath is so beautiful;;
The outdoor area was stunning, and since I came early in the morning, it wasn’t too crowded.
By the time I left after 11, it had become quite busy.
There were also indoor thermal baths with more than ten pools.
Each pool had different temperatures, so you could choose the one you wanted. Haha.
After swimming, I felt hungry and grabbed a quick snack, a chimney cake.
It was too early for lunch, so I just had a light bite.
After resting for a bit at my accommodation, I visited the nearby Hungarian State Opera House!
There was a terrace on the second floor, where many people were sitting, but it looked too crowded with tourists, so we didn’t go inside.
There seemed to be a café too (or maybe not? Haha).
Pizza Mi
After the chimney cake, I had a simple lunch of a slice of pizza.
Compared to European food, it was less salty, so I enjoyed it.
But it wasn’t warmed up, so that was a bit ^^ Haha.
I took a nearby tram to move to the Great Market Hall!
The tram schedule was predetermined, so I boarded the tram that was stopped and waited for it to depart.
I was really curious about taking the tram, and it was exciting! Haha.
At the Budapest Central Market (Great Market Hall), I explored diligently, but I had to hurry because it closes early on Saturdays.
(Actually, I had come the day before, but it was closed due to a public holiday, so I re-visited out of necessity ㅠ).
Here, I bought paprika powder as a souvenir and Tokaji wine (5) for later.
These two were highly recommended as Budapest souvenirs, and while I might drink them, the Tokaji wine was really delicious…
If it wasn’t so heavy, I would have bought several bottles.
After finishing shopping, I mistakenly took the wrong bus back to my accommodation and ended up at the subway instead. Haha.
The subway was similar to what we have back in Korea, but different from when I went to Széchenyi.
And shopping is an essential part of the course!!!
Especially Zara, a place I always visit even if I don’t buy anything.
The products are different, and I feel like there’s a higher chance of finding good deals than in Korea. Haha.
It would be nice if our mannequins were more realistic, right? Haha.
This is a tank top that I always buy a few of whenever I travel to Europe. The material is super soft and stretchy, and it was so cheap that I had to check the tag.
If there are similar stores in Korea, please let me know! ㅠ
I wondered what market this was and walked in, but it was set up like a Korean underground shopping center.
However, it wasn’t as active as Korea, nor was it very spacious.
Then it was time for dinner!
(If you’re curious about the food, please refer to the restaurant posts~)
Széchenyi Bridge Night View
And I took a walk to the famous Széchenyi Bridge for its night view.
I arrived early, so it was just okay before the lights were turned on, but when they lit up, everything became beautiful from every direction.
And the night view street that spreads towards Fisherman’s Bastion is ㅠㅠ
The scenery was so moving.
I tried to take a lot of pictures, but these are the best I could manage…
There were street vendors promoting night river cruises, and I think that might have been one of those boats!
Goodbye, Budapest!
It’s time to leave Budapest now.
I’ll take the subway to the train station~~
I was scared because there were no screen doors 😣
When I arrived at the train station, it was the first train, so I was really confused ㅜ
I had to get a separate ticket, but I didn’t know how to do that, so I went to the information desk…
Of course, they weren’t particularly helpful. The staff was unfriendly ㅜ
However, a young intern who looked like a student was incredibly kind, and thanks to them, I managed to catch the train safely.
I wanted to take a cool picture at the train station but just gave up! Haha!!!
I barely captured one on video, but the angle was so weird, Mom.
They said there was Wi-Fi available, but it was super slow.
As the outside became vast and empty, even the data signal was weak. Haha.
Budapest Train
Finally reached Graz Station!
Ending with a photo of a patiently waiting husky…
The next travel post will continue with Austria Graz…😉
