Joseon Buttumak Suwon Homasil Branch: A Generous Pork Feast at a Korean Restaurant

Joseon Buttumak Suwon Homasil Branch, located at 104 and 105, 361 Seosuwon-ro, Gwonseon-gu, is a great place to oil your throat on dry, dusty days. It’s the kind of place you crave when your throat feels scratchy like these days. Today, we visited Joseon Buttumak Suwon Homasil Branch, rumored to be a popular restaurant in Suwon.

Even though we arrived around 8 PM, it was already crowded with customers. It seemed to be a popular spot for company dinners for nearby office workers. Seeing the waiting area outside the door, we could really feel how popular this restaurant is.

After settling into a corner sofa seat, we were impressed by the tile-shaped interior design we noticed later. It was a beautiful space that made us feel like we were at a traditional Korean tavern.

Tablet Ordering and Abundant Side Dishes

You can easily order using a tablet PC. They are also running a review event where you get 2 free drinks or steamed egg if you write a Naver receipt review, so be sure to participate! Six different seasonings (garlic onion salt, garlic pepper salt, spicy sea salt, sun-dried salt, soybean powder, curry powder) are provided, making it fun to dip your meat according to your preference.

When we ordered the 2-person set, a generous set of side dishes was neatly arranged. Scallion salad, perilla leaves, pickled onions, pickled radish wraps – all the perfect companions for meat were present. It truly deserves to be recognized as a great restaurant in Suwon!

Juicy Meat and Soft Steamed Egg

The 2-person set includes pork belly, pork neck, and the intriguing “jjondak-sal” (chewy meat). The jjondak-sal, as its name suggests, had a delightfully chewy and firm texture, but my absolute favorite was the pork belly, which was incredibly tender. It was so soft it was hard to believe it was pork, and we enjoyed it immensely.

The soybean paste stew and steamed egg that came with it were also excellent. In particular, the fluffy, moisture-filled steamed egg was as soft as a baby’s bottom and hit all the right notes for me.

Delicious Bibim Naengmyeon and Convenient Desserts

The bibim naengmyeon we ordered to finish was so delicious that we forgot to take pictures! It’s rare for a Korean BBQ restaurant’s naengmyeon to be this good, but here, even the side dishes were perfect. We were full, but we managed to finish the whole bowl.

They also accept bank transfers, which was very helpful for me since I didn’t bring my wallet. As we were leaving, we noticed they even had an ice cream machine, making it a place that perfectly takes care of your dessert needs.
