The Grand Departure Day

Since it was Friday, I rushed to the airport bus after leaving work at 5 PM.

If you’ve completed online check-in and have no checked baggage,

the boarding pass line is very short!!!

Even though I arrived only 15 minutes before boarding started, there were so many people…

I only had carry-on luggage, so I was lucky haha.

They also gave me a welcome drink, which had a ginger scent.

It was surprisingly refreshing and good to drink late at night.

Since it was a 0.5-night stay and I was only sleeping, I didn’t have high expectations,

but the room condition was better than I thought!

I’ll say it now: the breakfast (pho) was the best among the accommodations on this trip.

Although there were fewer options compared to other places,

it was quite a lot for its size and the taste was excellent.

My travel companion, Seoyoung, said the kimchi was very spicy and delicious.

Since custom-made ao dais take about 2 hours, I visited here first.

I went to stall 123, which had good reviews among those I searched.

They showed me various designs and actual worn photos,

and even though I kept changing my mind about the fabric,

the owner was very kind.

I visited around 9 AM and it took 30 minutes just to choose… ;

They told me to come pick it up at 11 AM.

(I actually went at 11 AM but had to wait about 30 minutes longer.

But the owner was so kind that I wasn’t annoyed!! ☺)

Stall 253 was the first to approach me when I was looking for Crocs.

After looking around, when I tried to leave, they grabbed me and asked where I was going.

They even said I was lying when I said I was going to look around, and they showed their displeasure.

So, after promising to come back, I looked around and actually returned, but they were very unfriendly.

I came back because I promised, but I didn’t want to buy anything from them. ㅡㅡㅋ

So, I bought one set of Crocs + Jibbitz (200,000 VND) for myself,

and told my sister to buy from somewhere else.

Even when buying for her, they were curt…

We bought 3 sets together and got a small discount.

Originally 70,000 VND per piece, but we got them for 60,000 VND each for 3 pieces.

I thought they would accept card payments since it’s a famous place,

but it was cash only.

I ordered my usual favorite condensed milk coffee.

My sister ordered something called ambarella juice, which sounded strange.

They cost 35,000 and 65,000 VND respectively.

This is White Orchid Spa, located in Hoi An.

The best part is the free pick-up and drop-off service.

They even offer massage discounts…

But the original price wasn’t more expensive than other places,

in fact, it was cheaper.

I was worried about how to get from Da Nang to Hoi An,

but I found this place by chance, and it’s truly the best…

If anyone asks me about going to Da Nang, I will definitely recommend it!!!

(I actually used it again the next day.)

This is a coffee shop I found in an alley while exploring Old Town.

It was so hot that we decided to sit down and have an iced Americano each!

They just poured pre-made black coffee into a cup of ice,

but it was refreshing and satisfying~ And it was cheap ㅎㅎㅎ

The motorcycle ride back to the accommodation was so fun that I took a motorcycle back.

A waiting motorcycle driver, not Grab, quoted 50,000 VND for two people.

Score!! I thought, and got on, but upon arrival, he suddenly changed his tune.

So I argued, “Didn’t you say 50,000 for two people?!”

He said no with such a pitiful expression that I just took out 100,000 VND to give him,

but then he suddenly changed the 100,000 VND in his hand to 20,000 VND…??

No matter how I think about it, I feel like I was ripped off.

Suddenly, I felt angry and craved a beer.
