This is a must-visit place for those who love spicy galbi-jjim. It’s genuinely delicious! Whenever I have a reason to be near Haenggung-dong<\/a>, I make sure to include this place in my itinerary. It’s Hyeonho’s Spicy Pork Ribs, located in Suwon<\/a>‘s Tongdak Street<\/a>!<\/p>\n

This is the exterior of the restaurant. Naver says they open at 12 PM, but the sign on the door says 11 AM. I wonder which one is correct.<\/p>\n

Menu and Ordering<\/h3>\n

I was tempted by the aged kimchi galbi-jjim, but based on my friend’s recommendation, I ordered the medium-spicy pork galbi-jjim and steamed eggs. I can’t quite remember if I added glass noodles…<\/p>\n

The dining area is more spacious than I expected. I visited right after the break time ended, so there were no other customers.<\/p>\n

Spicy Pork Galbi-jjim Arrives!<\/h3>\n

The spicy pork galbi-jjim was served. It came uncooked, so we had to cook it ourselves. However, it cooks quickly. The pork ribs were so tender that they fell off the bone, suggesting it was closer to semi-cooked than completely uncooked!<\/p>\n

Side Dishes and Steamed Eggs<\/h3>\n

There were a generous five basic side dishes. Hyeonho’s Spicy Pork Ribs is very generous! And they taste great too. The white kimchi is especially delicious when eaten with the galbi-jjim.<\/p>\n

The steamed eggs were also a good portion for 4,000 won. They were fluffy and savory, and very tasty. Steamed eggs are a must when eating spicy food!<\/p>\n

Galbi-jjim and Fried Rice<\/h3>\n

After boiling it thoroughly, I ate the glass noodles first. I really love glass noodles. Of course, the galbi-jjim was delicious, but I didn’t take many pictures because I was too busy eating. The medium spice level felt about 2% less spicy than Buldak ramen. My friend mentioned that the spice level seems to vary slightly each day. However, based on my experience, unless you are extremely sensitive to spice, you should definitely order medium or higher. The mild option would likely be lacking! Since you’re here for spicy galbi-jjim, you should eat it spicy.<\/p>\n

I was so full I thought I would burst, but I had to try the fried rice, right? I only ordered one serving. It was exactly to my liking. The kimchi was crisp and refreshing, and the seasoning was just right. I could have inhaled it, but I’m still working on expanding my stomach, so I failed. (After this day, I visited again after expanding my stomach and successfully finished the fried rice perfectly! \u270c)<\/p>\n

Overall Review<\/h3>\n

Although it’s a bit far from the main streets of Haenggung-dong<\/a>, I genuinely, wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. Hyeonho’s Spicy Pork Ribs… Honestly, I don’t want it to get too famous and have long waiting lines… but I hope the owner prospers! It’s so delicious.<\/p>\n
