This post needs no lengthy explanation. It’s a restaurant I visit very often, and their baekban (set meal) is a mere 8,000 won! In this era of crazy inflation, you can enjoy an incredibly generous meal for just 8,000 won!!<\/p>\n

They have a variety of menu items, but I’ve only ever tried the baekban. All side dishes are refillable, and they even offer sikhye (sweet rice drink) for dessert! I have nothing more to say about the taste; everything is so delicious that I’m uploading a storm of photos.<\/p>\n

Detailed Review of Popular Menu Items<\/h4>\n

Spicy Stir-fried Pork (Jeyuk Bokkeum)<\/h5>\n

My absolute favorite menu item, Jeyuk Bokkeum! Unlike the jeyuk at other restaurants, the meat is incredibly thick and delicious. They also give you plenty of fresh greens for wraps, which is the best! I eagerly await the days when jeyuk is served.<\/p>\n

Budae Jjigae (Army Stew)<\/h5>\n

It’s packed with ham, rice cakes, tofu, and ramen. It seems they’ll add more ramen noodles if you ask. However, I’ve always been too full to try adding more.<\/p>\n

Served in a hot stone pot, this Yukgaejang! It’s filled with glass noodles and meat, making it incredibly filling.<\/p>\n

Soft Tofu Stew (Sundubu Jjigae)<\/h5>\n

My favorite Sundubu Jjigae! The soft tofu is incredibly tender. They give you such a generous portion that I often can’t finish it (sorry), but when Sundubu Jjigae is served, I almost always eat it all.<\/p>\n

Pork Kimchi Stew (Dwaeji Gogi Kimchi Jjigae)<\/h5>\n

This is also legendary. It contains incredibly thick pieces of pork. The portion size is so large that you could eat just the pork and still have leftovers.<\/p>\n

Braised Spicy Chicken (Dakbokkeumtang)<\/h5>\n

Boiling it vigorously and mixing the thick sauce with rice is pure bliss. They use new potatoes, which are soft, savory, and just incredibly delicious.<\/p>\n

Pollock Roe Stew (Altang)<\/h5>\n

It’s full of cod roe and milt. Of course, I’m not a big fan of milt, so I mostly eat the roe, but the broth is so refreshing that it tastes like a specialty roe stew restaurant!<\/p>\n

Frozen Pollack Stew (Dongtae Tang)<\/h5>\n

This dish taught me what Dongtae Tang is, even though I don’t usually like it. One sip of the refreshing broth makes you think, “Ah, this is why adults love Dongtae Tang…”<\/p>\n

Cheonggukjang (Rich Soybean Paste Stew)<\/h5>\n

Finally, Cheonggukjang! I had it for lunch today too. On days when Doenjang Jjigae is served, they seem to give you a piece of grilled fish as a side dish. Thanks to that, I’m incredibly full. They also give you plenty of tofu, so I feel like I’m going to burst.<\/p>\n

Conclusion<\/h3>\n

A perfect ending with sikhye! It’s just the right amount of sweetness, perfect as a dessert.<\/p>\n

There are some menu items I couldn’t photograph, such as the Beef Bulgogi Hot Pot… this also contains my beloved glass noodles, so it’s another dish I look forward to.<\/p>\n

For those looking for a Dang-dong<\/a> restaurant near Gunpo<\/a> Station, I highly recommend Eumae Hanwoo Sommeori! But please don’t come too often, or I’ll have to wait to eat, so come in moderation.<\/p>\n
