Today, to escape the heat, I visited Danilmok, a valley view restaurant located in Yongin<\/a> Gogi-ri<\/a>. The entrance to Gogi-ri<\/a> was crowded with many cars from the beginning, but with the thought of eating delicious samgyetang, I headed to Danilmok with an excited heart.<\/p>\n

The restaurant entrance looks like the picture. Parking is available directly in front of and next to the restaurant, but since the space is not large, it might be more convenient to use a nearby public parking lot.<\/p>\n

The outdoor space felt more spacious than the indoor area. At the time of my visit, most customers were sitting at the outdoor tables, and we also used the outdoor seating we had reserved in advance.<\/p>\n

Dining with a Valley View<\/h2>\n

The biggest reason for visiting Danilmok was the beautiful valley view. Unfortunately, it hadn’t rained for a long time on the day of my visit, so there wasn’t much water, but the open scenery gave a refreshing feeling.<\/p>\n

This is the menu at Danilmok. Since there were 6 of us, we ordered both chicken samgyetang and duck jjimyeok. I tend to prefer grilled meat over samgyetang, so I was looking forward to the duck jjimyeok as well.<\/p>\n

The side dishes included a generous spread of salad, donggeurangttaeng, and pickled garlic. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a good picture of the side dishes.<\/p>\n

Tender Chicken Samgyetang<\/h2>\n

Thanks to our reservation, we could enjoy the chicken samgyetang without a long wait. I prefer a clear, milky broth over a thick one, and the samgyetang at Danilmok was perfect for my taste. Also, the herbal scent wasn’t too strong, so it was enjoyable without feeling overwhelmed.<\/p>\n

It tasted even better when we added chives to the broth and simmered them together. The samgyetang chicken was very tender and easily fell off the bone, and we also enjoyed the chives served with it.<\/p>\n

Spicy and Sweet Duck Jjimyeok<\/h2>\n

The duck jjimyeok was about a 3-person serving. I enjoyed it as it had been a while since I had duck jjimyeok, but I regretted not being able to eat more due to drinking too much the day before. It was even more satisfying because it was generously filled with enoki mushrooms and chives. Having to cook it ourselves on the grill was a bit of a hassle, but it was well worth it for the delicious food.<\/p>\n

What’s a delicious meal without makgeolli! We had makgeolli as a hangover cure.<\/p>\n

Conclusion: Kalguksu and Juk<\/h2>\n

After finishing the samgyetang, we concluded our meal with kalguksu and juk. The kalguksu noodles had a slightly undercooked texture even after simmering for a long time, which was a bit disappointing, but the juk was truly delicious. It made me realize once again that Koreans are powered by rice.<\/p>\n

I recommend spending a cool summer by fighting heat with heat at Danilmok, a valley view restaurant in Yongin<\/a> Gogi-ri<\/a>.<\/p>\n
