Hello! Today, I’d like to introduce a Korean barbecue restaurant called Midamhyu, located in Jeongja-dong<\/a>. I visited this place before for my former company’s dinner, and I highly recommend it for special occasions or small-scale company dinners.<\/p>\n

When you arrive on the first floor of the building, the entrance might be a bit confusing. Instead of the main entrance of the restaurant, you need to enter the building and take the stairs or elevator to the second floor.<\/p>\n

As soon as I entered the restaurant, I was impressed by the space decorated with refreshing plant interior from the entrance. We had made a reservation in advance, so we were immediately guided to our seats. The hallway leading to the rooms was also beautifully decorated like a luxurious restaurant you might see in a drama.<\/p>\n

When we arrived at our reserved room, various side dishes were already neatly set up. Kimchi jjigae, shredded perilla leaves, seasoned lettuce, and myeongnamul were prepared. I sometimes have trouble with blood circulation when sitting cross-legged, so I was worried about the floor seating, but thankfully, the rooms here have space to lower your legs, allowing for a comfortable dining experience.<\/p>\n

Please note that there is a 20,000 won deposit for room reservations, and regular tables can also be reserved. Regular tables have the advantage of allowing you to appreciate the beautiful lighting and interior up close.<\/p>\n

The first dish we tried was ‘Bon Samgyeop’. I liked that the pork belly was fully cooked and ready to eat. It was served with a generous portion of fresh minari (water dropwort), which enhanced the flavor when eaten together. Personally, I prefer the cast-iron griddle style of samgyeop-sal, but the Bon Samgyeop here was also excellent.<\/p>\n

Next, we ordered the ‘Tomahawk’ and ‘U-dae Galbi’. For the Tomahawk, a staff member performed a show by bringing out a cutting board and carving it right in front of us. The meat from the bone was placed on a brazier to be grilled to our liking. Both dishes had a melt-in-your-mouth tender texture, but among them, I found the U-dae Galbi to be the most delicious!<\/p>\n

We also ordered some side dishes to make our meal even more satisfying. These included ‘King Crab Fried Rice’, ‘Beef Brisket Ramyeon’, and ‘Custard Pudding’.<\/p>\n

The ‘King Crab Fried Rice’ tasted a bit different from what I expected. It was delicious, but it lacked some of the savory depth characteristic of crab shell fried rice, and it felt more like a stone pot bibimbap.<\/p>\n

The ‘Beef Brisket Ramyeon’ was truly ‘heavenly’! After eating meat, I craved a spicy and hearty ramyeon, and this was perfect. Even though I was full, it went down so smoothly. I highly recommend the Beef Brisket Ramyeon! \ud83d\udc4d\ud83d\udc4d\ud83d\udc4d<\/p>\n

The ‘Custard Pudding’ was quite sweet. The texture of the pudding itself wasn’t quite to my liking, and with the addition of maple syrup, it was even more so. However, due to its strangely addictive taste, I ended up eating almost all of it.<\/p>\n

Overall Review<\/h2>\n

Midamhyu was a place where even the restrooms were beautifully maintained. Honestly, the price might be a bit high for me to eat there frequently with my own money, but it’s absolutely perfect as a dining spot for small company dinners of 7 or more people.<\/p>\n

It offers quiet and cozy private rooms, a luxurious interior, and most importantly, delicious meat! Unlike the noisy atmosphere of typical Korean barbecue restaurants, it’s good for having quiet conversations over a meal. It would also be an excellent place for meetings.<\/p>\n

If you’re looking for a special U-dae Galbi restaurant in Jeongja-dong<\/a>, Midamhyu is highly recommended!<\/p>\n
