This restaurant seems familiar, as if I’ve seen it somewhere before..
It’s none other than Mount Everest Restaurant Jeju, an Indian-Nepalese restaurant.
It’s a restaurant taking on the challenge of Hallasan.
If you’re wondering why you would eat curry in Jeju 👇
Just read until the end.
The restaurant was very spacious.
There were no other customers at the time because I went early, making it feel even larger..
Menu
Looking at the menu brings back nostalgic memories.
Canned goods and comfort food.. haha
I ordered Everest Chicken Curry + Cheese Naan + Rice + Mango Lassi.
(Yes, I ate it all by myself)
When I sat down, they first brought me water.
For some reason, it was bubbly.
Is it sparkling water? I hoped for a moment, but it wasn’t. Haha
Mango Lassi
First up was the mango lassi, which looked a bit like blended banana.
But after taking a sip, I realized this was heavenly!
The mango flavor was surprisingly rich and truly delicious…
The coconut powder topping was so cute! ❣
Salad
Then the salad came out.
This seems to be a pre-appetizer.
Since there’s a lot of lettuce, it has a strange taste reminiscent of Korean salad.
It was salty and delicious 🥗🥗
Main Menu
And here comes the main dish.
Ta-da!
First up was the Everest Chicken Curry.
It has a slight spiciness.
It’s not very spicy, but it’s not completely void of heat either; it’s suitable for kids.
If it were just a bit spicier, it would have been perfect! Haha.
As you continue to eat, you can also taste the rich flavor of butter.
I thought it paired better with naan than with rice!
And then there was the wonderfully aromatic cheese naan…
The cheesy scent was delightful, and the center was crispy.
It was delicious dipping it in the curry, but it was also tasty on its own.. 😲
If you’re looking for a tasty spot in Jeju, this is the place.
Also, an extra portion of rice…
Since curry doesn’t come with rice by default, if you want curry rice, you’ll need to order rice separately.
I asked before ordering, of course.
As a Korean, I can’t resist rice….
I almost asked if they had kimchi, but I held back. Just kidding! Haha.
Choosing the Menu
I had a hard time choosing the menu too.
I was really curious about the biryani, but I gave it up because I wanted the cheese naan.
I’ll definitely have to try the biryani and some warm tea next time.
It’s close to Dongmun Market and the Black Pork Street,
and situated between Chilsung-ro shopping street, making it very accessible!
If you’re craving Indian food in Jeju, I highly recommend Mount Everest Restaurant ☺
