Western Mediterranean Cruise 9 Nights 11 Days Travel Day 4
Starting with the sunrise over the sea!
(The beautiful sea view never gets old)
The main dining area was too crowded, so I tried another breakfast restaurant.
Here, there were fewer options, but it was convenient to serve myself.
Plus, it was much quieter and more comfortable than the busy main area, even when I went there early!
Montserrat Monastery of the Virgin Mary
08199 Montserrat, Barcelona, Spain
As soon as we got off the bus, we saw the building.
Inside, there are souvenir shops, restaurants, restrooms, etc.
You can use the free restrooms here.
The monastery can be seen a bit further up!
If you follow the people, you will see the monastery, and the cliff behind it feels like a sculpture.
Maybe it’s just me, haha.
Famous for the Black Madonna statue.
If you go to the front, you can see it, but why didn’t I take a photo…?
I had very little free time, so I just looked around and left quickly.
The view is stunning as you walk to the Black Cross.
If you walk a bit faster, it takes about 15 minutes.
The scenery is truly breathtaking.
The vastness really opens up the soul.
The monastery, the sky, and the buildings below are all beautiful.
Another hot spot.
If you take a mini-train to the top of the mountain, you can see a different view.
However, time was tight, and our guide recommended the view from the Black Cross,
so I didn’t go to the top.
If I had more time, I would have gone, but it’s a pity!
I also looked around the souvenir shop and picked up a magnet!
(Paid) I took the train down now.
I could see beautiful scenery from the train.
OBBA Korea BBQ
C/ de Nicaragua, 97, 08029 Barcelona, Spain
That day’s lunch was at a Korean restaurant,
but why did they name it like this? 🤔
Basic side dishes
- Yuzu salad
- Stir-fried kimchi
- Seasoned spinach
- Stir-fried potato strips
The kimchi was a unique taste, halfway between raw and stir-fried.
The kimchi stew was made with pork and had an extremely rich flavor.
It was greasy, which is my style.
The kimchi was fermented nicely, making it the best.
It was really spicy, so maybe the elderly wouldn’t like it?
The soy sauce bulgogi was tasty but a bit salty.
So it was just right to eat with rice.
They even gave us oranges 🍊 for dessert! 👍
Barcelona Streets
Casa Batlló
Pg. de Gràcia, 43, 08007 Barcelona, Spain
(I didn’t get to take pictures… sigh)
Casa Batlló, famous for its Gaudí design.
I didn’t go inside, just admired it from the outside.
I couldn’t quite grasp how amazing it was, but it was impressive that it broke the conventions.
I also visited Casa Milà, but I have no photos from there…
Sagrada Familia
C/ de Mallorca, 401, 08013 Barcelona, Spain
This is also a church designed by Gaudí that is unfinished.
Maybe that’s why it looks like a construction site… (surprised)
(I thought maybe European buildings needed a lot of maintenance.)
Before trying Five Guys, I wondered if I should eat here.
I found a nice pair of sunglasses.
I should have bought them!
Barcelona
The street art is incredible.
If you give a tip, they’ll show you some sort of performance.
A woman completely covered in gold made me doubt if she was a person or a sculpture.
What is this…? I realized after seeing someone put in a coin.
Free time.
I didn’t want to go too far and was thirsty, so I just sat at a nearby open restaurant.
Restaurant Central Rambla 26 BARCELONA
La Rambla, 26, 08002 Barcelona, Spain
Beer 14 euros
Cocktail 25 euros
The cocktails were ridiculously expensive, but the quantity was huge.
Still, 35,000 won was a bit excessive…
Anyway, it’s a street restaurant, so I couldn’t find the name of the shop,
please refer to the receipt….
There seems to be a separate main location and this one operates separately.
I also visited a souvenir shop, and as expected, Barcelona has a lot of football-related products.
I bought a cap with Barcelona written on it, but
since I rushed to buy it, the size doesn’t fit. ^^;
Looking back in Korea, it feels too tight on my head.
Looking for someone who wants a cap; it’s really pretty navy blue.
Churrería
Baixos, Carrer dels Banys Nous, 8, 08002 Barcelona, Spain
Churrería churros are incredibly delicious.
It was a bit far from the square, so someone brought it for me.
I don’t like churros much, but these were just amazing.
I’m craving them again!
After the tour, we boarded again.
The photo shows a space where they played a Chinese film festival.
Since I can’t understand either Chinese or English, I’ve never watched it before haha.
That day’s course meal had everything except the third cheese gratin and the seventh mille-feuille, which were not that great.
However, I wasn’t hungry because I filled up on churros and more!
Oh my goodness!~~~~~~~~~~~~
While I was a bit bored on the ship, I casually played and suddenly hit the jackpot.
It wasn’t grand, but I hit a major jackpot of 1,290.74 euros (about 1.8 million won!!!!).
I was extremely excited; even a passing waiter congratulated me and took a photo.
They wouldn’t let me leave my seat and kept the screen paused like this…
A casino manager came over to guide me.
They wrote this paper for me, and I collected my winnings at the counter! Haha!!!
Not only the jackpot but I felt so good to have such an experience in my life.
Feeling great, I immediately treated myself to a drink.
Ending with a performance by the Jabronimas!
