Today, I visited Suwon Geumgok-dong Cafe Tears for dessert.

This is the only independent cafe in the Homaesil neighborhood that I’ve settled on, excluding large franchise cafes. The desserts are so delicious that I often crave them.

Here’s a photo from 4 years ago as proof! I visited again recently.

The entrance is at the back of the building, but you can also enter through a side door from inside the building. It’s the door I use to go to the restroom. There’s also an outdoor terrace area, so it’s nice to sit outside when the weather is good!

Menu

Suwon Roasting Cafe Tears has many unique coffee menus. There are many coffees with peculiar names. Every time I visit, I’m curious and try a new coffee. It’s only natural to try the signature menu if there is one! But now that I see it, I’m really curious about the coffee whiskey called ‘악마와 키스를…?’ ‘악마와 키스를…?’ (Kissing the Devil…?). It’s even the owner’s pick! I must come back to try it next time.

As expected of a dessert cafe in Homaesil, despite its small size, there were quite a variety of desserts. Of course, since it was late, I only ordered two simple items.

While waiting after ordering, I took some photos. The interior of the cafe is white, so it’s great for taking pictures in front of the full-length mirror. Even though I went on a weekday evening, there were quite a few customers, so I couldn’t take proper photos and just snapped a quick shot.

First, the signature coffee, Cream Mocha!! Isn’t the visual so pretty? I stirred it with the spoon provided and drank it. The chocolate flavor is very rich and sweet. I highly recommend it if you like chocolate with over 72% cacao!

For dessert, I had the Basque Cheesecake and the Pig Bar Tteok Cookie. What can I say about the Basque Cheesecake? It’s just delicious. They bring it straight from the refrigerator, and it’s so cold and moist, it’s absolutely insane. It’s my number one must-eat dessert when I come here! If you go late, it’s sold out, so you can’t even eat it. I’ve told everyone I know about it.

The Pig Bar Tteok Cookie had the Pig Bar Crunch I like, so the cookie flavor was strong, and the chewy texture of the jam and mochi in the center made it very addictive. It wasn’t dry, so it was perfect even for my taste, as I don’t usually snack much. I think it would be even more delicious with an iced Americano!
