After drinking heavily the night before.. I came to 9 Siblings Tofu House to cure my hangover.

To be honest, I had this trip planned just to come to this placeㅋㅋ.

The pictures looked so delicious, especially the tofu stew..

I arrived around 11 AM, and there was already a waiting line.

It was Saturday, so I guess we waited quite a bit.

The place isn’t super cramped, but given the nature of the menu, the turnover isn’t fast.

They were giving away free kongbiji (crushed tofu), so I snapped a photo.

While waiting, my friend brought an drink from a nearby cafe.

I almost threw up after drinking that Americano.. it was way too sour..

If you dislike acidity, you should definitely avoid it.. it’s next-level.

I counted, and there seem to be about 9 tables.

I was seated at a low wooden table.

It was really crowded, so it did feel a bit tight.

I was just going to order the tofu stew, but the owner insisted I try the soft tofu stew, so I ended up changing my order.

I really wanted the tofu stew, but they seemed adamant about itㅋㅋ.

I also ordered some Sikhye (sweet rice beverage), but it was not homemade; just a store-bought drink from the fridge, so keep that in mind 😐

The side dishes were impressive and quite plentiful.

All the banchan (side dishes) were so delicious that I finished a bowl of rice in no time.

I also ordered half a block of regular tofu, and it was steaming hot and incredibly soft.

Dipping it in soy sauce was just great👍.

Due to my hangover, I couldn’t eat much, but if I had come here for a regular meal, I would have polished it off.

Ending up only ordering half a block was a good choice.

Soft tofu stew came out.

After simmering it a bit more, it was perfect for curing my hangover..

All the ingredients were exactly what I loved.

You can scoop it into a bowl to eat.

Eating it with rice is heavenly, but even without rice, the stew is satisfying enough.

Since the seasoning isn’t too salty, the tofu can replace rice quite well.

I definitely plan to revisit this place when I come back to Gangneung. 😎

But isn’t the regular tofu stew also looking super delicious?

The taste of eating cubed tofu is just delightful.

It looks so soft like silken tofu, it must be really tasty ㅜㅜ.

And at another table, someone ordered Cheonggukjang (fermented bean stew), and the smell was just amazingㅋㅋ.

Next time I revisit, I definitely want to try something other than the soft tofu stew…
