I used to go to Haidilao for on-site waiting,

but the waiting time was like 4 hours..? So I always ended up going to another restaurant.

This day was a weekday, so I was able to make a waiting reservation through Catch Table.

Jinju and I calculated our commuting time to Gangnam after work,

and applied for waiting around 5 PM before arriving!

(I ended up applying late because I was distracted;;)

Since we had some time left, we looked around for clothes nearby,

and entered about 15 minutes early.

Since it’s a popular restaurant, the waiting area is well organized.

Clear Soup + Tomato Soup + Spicy Hot Pot + Ginseng Chicken Soup

I ordered this combination, and it seems like the best choice….

I wondered why I ordered the clear soup, but it turns out it’s for washing the ladle, haha.

The Spicy Hot Pot was spicier than I expected, making it hard to keep eating,

but having the Tomato Soup adds a sweet taste, balancing the spiciness.

I couldn’t stop eating..

And having the Ginseng Chicken Soup as a palate cleanser was just right, haha.

I made ☆Young-ji Sauce☆ at the self-bar.

I really dislike peanut flavor, but why is this so good..?

I want to go again.. yum.

Next time, I should try it with Gun-hee Sauce..

I ordered cola for drinks but switched to unlimited drinks.

But both of us were so full that we could only drink once, hahaha.

But since the price difference was only about 500 won, it might be better to switch?

I tried the chopstick rolling skill I only saw in videos.

It was harder to roll than I thought.

And since it takes a long time to cook after dipping it in the soup,

eventually, I just ended up dropping it in to eat, haha.

After finishing, I added some brisket and mushrooms, and also some New Jin noodles?

I’m not sure if it’s really New Jin noodles, but among the noodles, that was the most delicious, so I added it.

It has a chewy texture, somewhat like glass noodles but also like sweet potato noodles..

I always used to add the same ingredients when eating Spicy Hot Pot or Spicy Stir-fried Noodles,

so I was glad to discover a new delicious ingredient……

Indeed, there’s nothing bad about hanging out with someone who knows good food.

For first-timers at Haidilao, I think it’s essential to go with someone who knows how to eat well,

or else you might end up confused and miss the waiting time, haha;;

It’s located between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station,

and the store name is Haidilao Seocho Branch, so it was hard to find, haha.

But it’s so expensive that I feel like I can’t come often..

I think I’ll definitely revisit once a quarter for a flex..

But only when waiting through Catch Table is possible in advance..

I hope Jinju moves to the neighborhood soon so we can go for late-night food adventures..
