Following the pretty back of the head of Ansan local Ddohyeong-unni, I entered through the back door.

Ansan Jung-gu Kalguksu restaurant, Hongdukkae Kalguksu!

They say this place is a famous restaurant.

I was introduced to it as a place I’ve been going to for about 1n years!!

There’s also a Gojan branch nearby, but this is the Jungang branch ㅎ

It was right around lunchtime, so it was bustling with people.

Luckily, I was able to sit in the last remaining seat! 😋

Looking at the menu, the signature dish, Shabu Kalguksu, could be ordered for one person.

However, please note that barley rice is served instead of fried rice~!

We ordered two servings of Clam Kalguksu without hesitationㅋ

After ordering, basic side dishes and barley rice were served.

Mixing it with the gochujang on the table made my appetite return.

The ingredients were simple, but the taste was truly excellent.

Honestly, I could get full just eating thisㅋ

And what can I say about the kimchi… Kalguksu place kimchi is always delicious.

It was impressive that the kalguksu here is not served in one large bowl

but individually, which is hygienic and convenient as you don’t need to scoop it with a ladle every time!!

The portion size of the kalguksu was so generous, it felt like it wouldn’t run out no matter how much I ate.

The broth was not salty and was refreshing, so I could drink it straight from the bowl.

There were plenty of clams, and I piled the shells high in my rice bowl ㅋㅋ

Coincidentally, there was a tanghulu shop nearby, so we finished with dessert 싸-악!
